Wilmington is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Wilmington follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The Plant Outpost is absolutely amazing. I live 3.5 hours away and have made multiple trips to buy from them. I’ve been able to even pay an invoice for them to hold a plant for me as I couldn’t make the drive right away. They are amazing!!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while, so here goes! I’ve been visiting The Plant Outpost every week or two for over six months now, and it has truly become my happy place. For anyone who loves plants—whether you’re just starting out or already knowledgeable—this shop is so welcoming. The owners are fountains of information and always incredibly personable. The location can’t be beat, with ample parking and just steps away from tons of other great small businesses in the Cargo District. One of the best things is how often they restock plants and pots—you’ll always find something new and interesting with every visit. As a plant lover, that’s what first drew me in. But as someone who also appreciates unique fashion and design, I’ve been blown away by their merch. The hats and shirts are not only high quality but also stylish and comfortable, perfectly fitting the vibe of the store. And I promise you, you will wear this merch constantly, with how versatile and high-quality it is. Every experience I’ve had here has been wonderful. The staff are kind, the plants are always healthy (not a single one I’ve bought has struggled), and caring for them has been easy thanks to h

Where can I even start? The Plant Outpost is literally one of the shiniest gems of Wilmington, NC. The owners and staff are always so friendly and inviting. Their plants are always pest free and pure perfection. Whenever I’m feeling down, I go to The Plant Outpost for a little pick-me-up. They have common plants, and rare ones too. Their prices are so incredibly reasonable. The owners sometimes have cuttings of their own, rare plants which is an amazing way to boost your own collection for cheaper. Don’t sleep on this one, folks.

This is my favorite plant store in Wilmington! Sarah and Dakotah are so kind and helpful, and I’ve never left regretting my plant purchases (they help me figure out which ones I won’t kill easily XD). The shop is SO stinkin cute, and their hours make it easy to swing by outside of work. 10/10 would recommend!

My favorite Gem💎 in Wilmington🪴 The Owner is often in the store and a literal dictionary of information! I have gotten some of my favorite plants here and they have THRIVED since day one. (taking over my living room at this point they are so healthy!) This trip I came in for some stake's to put into my Monsteras that was getting a little crazy- I found exactly what I needed and more! Highly recommend going by to see this beautiful store if you’re in the area! Before and after Pictures for reference- can’t wait to watch these babies grow even bigger !☺️

Ok so I will start off with this because I just made the mistake of looking at some of the other reviews before starting mine. I am in shock this place does not have all 5 star reviews because it should. Now on to my review. This store is legit, awesome and the only place in Wilmington I will buy my indoor plants from. I have purchased several plants from here. All of them were and are super healthy. Every time I have shopped at this store everyone that has helped me has been super nice and very knowledgable. There is absolutely no plant in this store “not well taken care of” like I just read in another review. I mean when you come in this store you will be amazed by the selection and the health of the plants. They will tell you everything you need to know about taking care of the plant you buy and they will repot any plant for you. Last time I purchased a plant for my mom and the lady was nice enough to right down the care instructions on a tab that she stuck down in the soil. If you want to buy a new plant or just want to look at some really cool healthy plants this is a must try if regardless if you are visiting or live in the area.

The Plant Outpost is honestly my favorite place to go in Wilmington! Over the last year and a half, I’ve fallen in love with the hobby of caring for houseplants and the majority of my plants are from this shop. I’m located about 35 mins outside of wilmington, so a chain store like Lowes would technically be more convenient, but I would 100% drive to the Plant Outpost for my plant shopping every time because it is such a beautiful and enjoyable place to be! Every plant is healthy and great quality, and Sarah and Kat are always so kind and welcoming. I’ve learned a lot about plants from conversation with staff, as well as the cute and convenient cards they have throughout the shop about plant care. If you are someone who reads reviews before going somewhere and you’re reading this, do not let the few negative reviews hinder you. They could not be further from the truth of what I know to be the normal at this wonderful shop. 💚

I am new to house plants, after years of outdoor gardening. I have gotten a few houseplants from the big box stores, but nothing exciting like I see online. I came across “The Plant Outpost” online and decided to pay them a visit today. From the moment I walked in I knew I found a special plant shop. They had all the lovely plants 🪴 I see online. The sales lady (Kat I believe)was so welcoming and answered all my questions. I bought a Peperomia Frost and a Rattlesnake plant. I will definitely be back. Maybe this weekend 😁
